Last November, Disney officials said the content of the episode was reviewed during the scriptwriting process for accuracy and approved, and scheduled to air that month.

Disney had made a big deal about promoting the show and had Nick Jonas, who also has diabetes, star in a public service announcement to air with the show.

But Disney programmers found out there were issues with the content after viewers saw an early version available through video on demand and mobile platforms.

It was pulled without notice.

Indeed, when regular viewers tuned in for the show on the Disney Channel, it wasn’t there.

Since then, producers and Disney have reviewed the episode with the the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Afterward, they rewrote and re-edited several scenes.

“We sincerely hope you will find that this revised story more accurately incorporates the subject of living with Type 1 diabetes, with the theme of the character Oliver learning to rely on his friends for support, no matter what challenges may arise,” Disney said in a letter to viewers.

The 16-year-old star has been tweeting from the studio and preparing for a North American tour that launches on September 14 (conveniently, the day after the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where her video for “7 Things” is nominated for Best Editing) in Portland, Oregon. Her new EP The Time of Our Lives is set to be released on August 31. The EP will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart as a tie-in to her new clothing line.

But her performance was certainly a hit with one older man – Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, who even requested a private audience!

The Hannah Montana star put on her bump-and-grind show as she collected nine gongs at the annual award show in LA. And as Brit Rob, 23, matched her haul for his vampire movie, he clearly figured he’d stake a claim.

Ignoring Cameron Diaz and Britney Spears, who handed Hannah Montana one of her surfboard awards, he made a beeline for the singing actress, begging aides to introduce him and give them five minutes alone in a dressing room.

And Miley Cyrus – who in the past had said she didn’t rate his charms – fell for his brass neck, gushing: “I gave Rob a hug. He’s so hot and I now get why everyone fancies him.”

In fact, she was so impressed they swapped numbers and made plans to meet up again.

A pal said: “Miley was a bit surprised Rob asked to see her – he’s one of the most soughtafter men in Hollywood.

“But she couldn’t stop talking about him – and he couldn’t keep his eyes off her after her pole dance.

“While it was maybe inappropriate for a children’s show, he loved it.
